The HRD Project successfully organised the Food Value Chain (FVC) Training Course in collaboration with the School of Business, IPB University, and the Japan Food Journal. The programme was conducted weekly from 16 September to 28 October 2025 in Bogor, Indonesia. This training has been integrated into the School of Business curriculum at IPB University, allowing participants to earn academic credits upon completion. A total of 45 Master’s students in Business Management participated in the course.
Throughout the programme, six distinguished experts from Japanese public and private companies shared their insights and extensive experience in the field of food value chains. The course explored a wide range of topics on food value chain improvement and development, including: (1) Sustainable Food and Agricultural Management, lessons learned from Japan as a small yet efficient country in food system management, (2) Food Loss and Environmental Impact, (3)Supply Chain and Logistics, (4)The Food Service Industry.
The training was complemented by a field visit to the Sipetek Factory in West Java, where participants observed real-world value creation practices in action. This hands-on learning experience deepened their understanding of innovation and sustainability within the food value chain framework, offering valuable insights into practical applications of the concepts discussed in class.
