Food Value Chain Training Course in Partnership with Royal University of Agriculture 2026

July 8, 2026

Faculty of Agro Industry, Royal University of Agriculture

The Food Value Chain Training Course, organised in partnership with the Royal University of Agriculture (RUA), was successfully held from 22 to 26 June 2026 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The training course brought together 123 participants, comprising 113 undergraduate students from the Faculty of Agro-Industry, particularly the Departments of Food Science and Biotechnology and Food and Nutrition Science, as well as six master’s students, two PhD students, and two staff members from RUA.

The programme was delivered by ten experts from Japanese public and private organisations, who shared their extensive knowledge and practical experience across various aspects of the food value chain. Through their expertise, participants gained valuable insights into current industry practices, emerging trends, and innovative approaches to food value chain development.

In addition to lectures, the programme featured interactive workshops and a field visit to Kirirom Food Production (KFP) Co., Ltd. in Kampong Speu Province. These activities were designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of key food value chain topics from both international and local perspectives.

Participants also had a valuable opportunity to explore innovative approaches to promoting a healthier society through improved nutrition and food culture during an interactive workshop conducted by the 5-A-Day Association Japan. In addition, group discussions facilitated by experts from Mayekawa Mfg. Co., Ltd. stimulated critical thinking and encouraged the exchange of ideas on the fundamental principles and practical applications of food chilling, freezing, and cold chain management. These interactive sessions fostered active participation and collaborative learning while deepening participants’ understanding of key concepts and practices across the food value chain.
