
The 2nd Food Value Chain Training Course in Partnership Program Visayas State University
The 2nd Food Value Chain Training Course under Partnership of the Project for Human Resource Development in Food-Related Areas through Partnership with Universities in the ASEAN Region (HRD Project) phase-3 with Visayas State University (VSU) was successfully organized from 12 September to 16 September 2022. The activity was implemented online through a zoom platform hosted by the Department of Food Science & Technology, VSU. it was attended by a maximum of 121 participants in a hybrid class which consist of students and staff of VSU and from other higher educational institutes in the country. 9 lecturers with noted expertise in Food Value Chain (FVC) from Japanese private sectors shared their knowledge and practical know-how based on their wide range of experiences in FVC-related fields.
The curriculum was arranged based on consultation among VSU, MAFF Japan, Japan Food Journal, and the Project. It was composed of cutting-edge knowledge on FVC-related topics: Concept of Food Value Chain, Agricultural Cooperatives, Packaging technology, SDGs, ICT & Agriculture/ Smart Agriculture, Meat Processing/ Livestock and Dairy Farming, Fast Food and restaurant industry, as well as Supply Chain and Logistics.
